The Pilot Pro utilizes our proprietary SlidePilot technology, a unique two-zone slide sole that helps your foot naturally finish the approach.

The traditional slide surfaces provide little directional guidance, allowing the foot to slide. SlidePilot does it differently. The sole separates the sliding surface into two functional friction zones, each affecting the foot's movement during contact and movement on the approach.

The lateral side has a high friction zone for more resistance at the outer edge of the foot. This means a smoother start to the slide, a more controlled slide start instead of the foot moving too freely.

On the medial side a low friction zone reduces resistance so the inside of the foot moves more easily. The combined effect of the counter friction characteristics causes the foot to rotate forward and to rest in a more linear sliding posture.

Instead of a simple straight division between the two surfaces, SlidePilot uses a deliberately curved transition between the friction zones. The geometry and difference in surface resistance provide a subtle guiding effect as the foot travels through the slide, nudging the sliding foot into a more consistent forward orientation.

This results in a sole that slides, but allows the bowler a more controlled, repeatable glide.

A traditional lace-up closure system provides a customizable fit across the foot to help establish a locked in platform as the bowler moves through the delivery.

Light Weight EVA Cushioning

The midsole is made from EVA and provides a light cushion underfoot that absorbs impact as you walk, approach and release.

The EVA provides the Pilot Pro with a nice balance of cushioning and weight, so it’s comfortable but not too heavy or clunky. The result is an athletic platform built to move time and time again, and to wear in over time.

Heel Traction Control

A rubber traction heel on the forefoot system of the SlidePilot provides added grip and control you can count on.

The heel is important in that it controls the movement and stability of the final steps of the approach. The sliding action of the shoe is complemented by the rubber traction surface at the front which provides the braking and control.

The SlidePilot sole and traction heel are designed as a balanced platform, based on the complete motion of the sliding foot from contact to slide to the final release position.
