Power Balance. Confident Control . Downlane a Strong Finish.

Storm’s newest release in its popular Ion Pro Series is the Storm Ion Pro Pearl Bowling Ball, which offers the perfect mix of power, control and versatility. The Ion Pro Pearl is designed to offer the most well rounded motion in the series so far and is built with the proven Element Tour A.I. Core New NRG Pearl Reactive coverstock for a confident, controlled reaction on medium oil.

This is a pre-order ball. It will ship on the day of release.
Release Date: 6th November 2026

Aggressive bowling balls can be hard to control through the transitions of the lane, the Ion Pro Pearl is designed to conserve energy through the front of the lane, but still have a strong aggressive move through the breakpoint. It’s medium-strength asymmetric core and 4000-grit Abralon factory finish provide a reliable combination of mid-lane control, backend continuation and versatility.

If you want a good tournament ball, a pearl reactive ball for medium oil, or a ball that reacts like the Storm EquinoX Hybrid and Ion Max, the Ion Pro Pearl gives bowlers a balanced performance package who want consistency without sacrificing hitting power.

Element Tour A.I. Core – Asymmetric Performance, Multi-purpose

The Storm Ion Pro Pearl features the Element Tour A.I. Core, a midweight asymmetric weight block that delivers a stable, controlled reaction with consistent continuation.

The Element Tour A.I. Core is a low RG ball with a mid differential of 0.035 and a PSA differential of 0.014, combined with a 15-lb RG of 2.47, giving a manageable but responsive ball flight.

Low RG allows the ball to get into its rotational motion efficiently and the moderate differential helps balance track flare with overall hook potential. The asymmetrical design provides versatility in drilling and supports a defined response down-hole.

Storm developed this core to respond well to changes in ball speed and hand position so that bowlers have the ability to change their approach to adapting to changing lane conditions.

If you are a bowler looking for an asymmetric ball with medium flare potential and predictable backend motion, the Element Tour A.I. Core is a good starting point.

NRG Pearl Reactive Coverstock Big Action Without Over-Reacting

The Storm Ion Pro Pearl is fitted with the latest version of Storm’s NRG Pearl Reactive coverstock, which is engineered to offer a good blend of length, traction and control.

Instead of a super sharp response to friction, the NRG Pearl coverstock blends with the Element Tour A.I. Core to make a powerful, confident push down lane and maintain a predictable overall shape.

This balance makes the Ion Pro Pearl especially valuable as stronger bowling balls start to read the lane too early or become too responsive as oil conditions change.

The coverstock helps to retain energy throughout the front part of the lane so the ball can create a strong back-end reaction without sacrificing the control that makes the Ion Pro Series so successful.

The Ion Pro Pearl is a versatile and high-performing controlled pearl reactive bowling ball that is a strong backend for bowlers.

4,000-Grit Abralon Finish – Smooth Finish, Defined Backend

The Ion Pro Pearl is factory finished with a 4000 grit Abralon finish so it’s already smooth without polishing compounds.

According to Storm, this is the smoothest surface preparation the company can produce without using polish or compound.

The factory finish works well with the NRG Pearl Reactive coverstock to create a controlled reaction, yet still be able to confidently respond to friction downlane.

The Ion Pro Pearl is designed to give a more balanced motion with an aggressive but controllable backend as opposed to the very polished pearl bowling balls that can give a more abrupt change of direction.

The surface characteristics make it a good option for bowlers who want the benefits of a pearl reactive coverstock but don't want an overly angular reaction.
